Well since last blog i haven't played too much. Kind of leery once i have a bad night, but i played a good bit today.
Jester_cky came over and we started playing sngs. He was hitting the 2.25s of ftp/.05-.10 cent nl tables. Play a sng, lose, and try and make it up in the cash games. lol. I am trying to push him in the right direction with bankroll management/game selection. Hope he listens.
I started with three 3.40s and a 6.50 on ftp. busted out of the 6.50 making a donk rr with AJ, and got bad beats in two 3.40s. Ugg. It felt just like the last session. Have the best hand, and it goes to crap. Here is what i am most happy with, i stopped loading sngs. aka i wasn't chasing my losses/tilting.
Things turned around in the last 3 sngs, because i got a 1st and 2nd in 3.40s and won my second 6.50 on ftp. Nice to decide to stop because things are going bad, but still manage to make money.
Came home, and decided it want to play some 6 max cash games. I love deep stack short handed nl. LOVEE, but i have to play well under my bankroll to avoid bleeding off chips/not taking enough risks. Started playing and was doing really well. Making nice value bets, folding good but beaten hands, ect. BUT, its kind of boring to play one table of 6 max, and i didn't want to play 2 tables of it on my small monitor. I wanted something i could nut peddle, and to basically keep me from being so bored. Saw a 4.40 180 man about to start and jumped it.
MTTs...i think i am ok. I don't play them much because i am not too much on long sessions. anyways i ended up playing very well, and took 2nd for ~140 dollars uptick. Final hand i got it all in on the flop with the chip leader for 120K in chips with my flopped pair of aces vs his flopped pair of queens. queen on the turn, and i am done. Oh well. no biggie.
So, i now have over 300 dollars in my Stars account, and ~230 on full tilt.
After the mtt boost, i really have no excuse not to play the 6.50s. I have over 80 buy ins, and believe i have the skills to win at this level. Also a big help is my willingness to step down levels when things are going bad. So if i start off on a tough run in the 6.50s i will just drop back down untill i feel comfortable.
Looks like 6.50s for the most part now. Excited about it. WHEEE for mtt cashes.
