Double Shoot Outs -rant-

I am either the unlucky in them, or i just have no clue how to win one of these.

I have played everything from the 2 dollar 6 max triple shootouts for Sunday million seats, to the 16 dollar double shoot outs for 650 dollar WSOP sat. seats, and i have yet to make it past the first table. I am sure i have played them over 20 times, but i am just lost. Its the feeling i have when i play Pot Limit Omaha. I never know when to loosen up, when to steal, when to do anything. Just like a little kid wandering around walmart looking for his mother, i stumble around and dust off my chips.

The play in them isn't great by any means. I think the average ~10 dollar buyin sng player is better than them. I just pushed all in for 15 bb over a 4 bb raise (guy had been doing it all day) and was insta called by the villain. his hand, none other than the Q 5. my hand was A4, and i pushed knowing i was ahead, and that he would call. Won the hand, and ended up losing a flip later when my 44 lost to AK. (how my 44 lost is a mystery. low pocket pairs pwn.)

Just seems like the players are so bad that they donk each other off and then i am left with a short stack 3 handed, but not short enough for ICM to come into consideration. I end up 3bb raising from the button with some K-X hand, get pushed all in by one of the monster stacks, and have to fold down to a 10-12bb stack.

I really think i am +ev skill wise over all, but i am just lost as to how to play these things.

I really want to play them more, due to the fact that for 16 dollars i can play a sng with total donks, instead of playing with 3 or 4 decent sng players at the 16 dollar turbo level. I think someone could easily have a 40+ percent roi if they knew how to play them.

Here is the plan...If i play any more of the double shoot outs they are going to be Turbos. I think i am better suited to faster blinds where i feel more comfortable pushing the action. Also i am going to give these things a shot a few more times, and then just give up. If i do not make it to the second table in my next 5 trys i am just going to find another way to sat. into stuff.

sorry for the total rant blog, but it is just frustrating to know i am playing with bad players, yet can not seem to make anything go right.
